Creating An Atmosphere of Worship In Your Home.
I can't tell you how important it is that the church be about people more than a building. Wherever we are, that is where The Church is. Think about it:
We are only together for a few hours every week as the body of Christ. Moms, Dads, siblings – we are together for a majority portion of the times we live. In thinking about that, we have to weigh the impact of each area of our lives. Our hope is that when we come together and gather to worship corporately, that the experience one may have is life-changing.
I can promise you this – the atmosphere of your home will impact the life you and your family lives much more. It really is irreplaceable.
How To Create An Atmosphere of Worship In Your Home
Commit to living holy. Ultimately, if we aren't striving and working to live our lives in a way that pleases God, we are negating the access we have to creating the right atmospheres for our lives.
Create a place of prayer in your home. Although God is omnipresent, there's something about having a consistent and purposeful place of prayer. If you don't have that place, I want to encourage you to create a space where you and God can meet. There's no wrong way to do it. Make it your own. Create a space that is conducive to no distractions and that will aid your focus being on Jesus.
Pray and Meet with God Consistently. I wish I didn't have to include such an obvious point, but I think it's valuable to all of us. Our humanity pulls us away from consistency and toward ease and comfort. Consistency is rooted in discipline. Start small, but start. Be committed every day to meeting with God.
